In 1978, Don Lindsay and Joseph Majebe planked the first Railway Sleeper by hand using a tree saw. "We had to sharpen the blade about 10 times! The planks were to be used to make chests on my farm. We polished the chests and the most beautiful patina emerged. Soon many friends demanded that we make them furniture."

Railwoods was born!
